Apprenticeship summary

This is a 4-year programme. During the first two years of the apprenticeship you will develop skills in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting, the next two years will allow you to develop advanced diagnostic skills and repair techniques.

·       Undertake overhaul, repair or refurbishment work on the machine 

·       Carry out standard diagnosis tests on machine components 

·       Complete commercial assessments and field inspections 

·       Check and record all parts and materials required for machine preparation work

Future prospects

You will train to become a Finning service engineer. Our engineers are skilled practical personnel who repair and maintain Caterpillar® equipment. Our qualified service engineers can be workshop or site based.

Things to consider

Successful completion of this apprenticeship will be accepted by the Institution of Agricultural Engineers as meeting the Engineering Councils requirements for Engineering Technician (EngTech) registration.
