About the Employer

Young Somerset and Cheese and Grain have partnered to provide a unique opportunity for an emerging talent to undertake an Apprenticeship within Live Sound & Sound Engineering.

Young Somerset has been making Somerset a better place for young people for over two decades. It began as a small charity in 1997, known as Somerset Rural Youth Project, where it initially focused on the rural areas of Somerset. However, as it has developed over the years, it widened out its valuable youth work service across the whole of the county, no longer just a focusing on the rural areas.

The Cheese and Grain is a not-for-profit, member owned social enterprise and also a registered charity. Its main aim is to promote and boost Frome’s social, cultural and economic life. Cheese and Grain is a leading venue for live music and events in the South West, hosting over 500 events a year. The main hall at the Cheese and Grain has a capacity of 850, and there is a café and bar, as well as meeting rooms and a mezzanine hot desk area.
