Apprenticeship summary

Overall job purpose:

  • Ensure that the presentation of guest bedrooms and public areas of the hotel meet the Fairmont standards at all times
  • Promote the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel consistently

Accountable Duties:

  • Ensure that all specified areas are cleaned and presented within the allocated time frame, to the standard required by the Housekeeping Managers
  • Be courteous and discreet with guest requests especially when attempting to clean rooms
  • Handle guest queries in accordance with company standards
  • Train new employees to the required standard
  • Ensure that damage to rooms and equipment are reported through the correct channels
  • Be aware of hotel services and facilities and to advise these to guests where appropriate
  • Other duties as specified by the Executive Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor
  • Complies with the hotel policy and procedure regarding Fire, Health and Safety, and hygiene
  • Attends regular training sessions
  • Ensure customers come first
  • Annual wage

    Monday to Sunday, Shifts TBC. You must have the ability and flexibility to work longer hours if needed.

Requirements and prospects

Desired Skills

  • 1-3 years experience in the Hospitality industry preferred or passion for working within this sector
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Works well on their own
  • Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results
  • Applicable job related skills as per Accountable Duties
  • Ability to adjust to different situations and changes

Personal qualities

  • Enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships with others
  • A confident & dynamic speaker, able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of an organisation
  • Able to work under pressure and at high speed
  • Good level of cleanliness

Desired qualifications

  • Preferably grades A-C (7-4) in maths and English at GCSE or equivalent
  • You are able to complete functional skills alongside the apprenticeship if needed

Future prospects

  • Future progression within the company, the possibility to be recruited at the end of your apprenticeship at a higher salary
  • You are able to remain in Housekeeping or we are open to opportunities to work in a different department, (following our internal recruitment process)
