Apprenticeship summary

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Library collection and electronic subscriptions
  • Order, catalogue, and maintain online and hardcopy resources and collections
  • Liaise with PSLs and other members of the Firm over new acquisitions for the library
  • Maintain the library management system
  • Ensure all new acquisitions and subscription materials are added to the catalogue and out of date material archived or removed
  • Maintain the satellite libraries, including helping to locate missing hardcopy materials
  • Maintain journal circulation lists
  • Ensure all looseleaf works are kept up to date

Finance:

  • Process invoices for payment
  • Check credit card expenditure against receipts
  • Check the monthly budget holder report

Joiners and leavers:

  • Set up passwords for new joiners and adding them to relevant journal circulation lists
  • Delete passwords for leavers and removing them from journal circulation lists

Additional tasks:

  • Ensure internal policies are adhered to
  • Locate missing library books and maintain the satellite libraries
