Apprenticeship summary

Duties Include:

  • To provide a comprehensive 1st line IT Support function to the disguise business (100+ employees with computers) as part of the IT support team. Maintain in-depth and current technical knowledge in order to provide expert advice. Within the role you will provide support to all of the company’s existing ICT systems
  • The IT support service involves: Answering support calls, managing own calls on the IT Service Desk, carry out support of London based users (sub 100 users currently), provide remote support of disguise systems and other central back-end systems across all disguise sites and participate in project work (upgrades, implementations)

Desired Skills

  • Operating systems - Maintenance of Microsoft Exchange + Active Directory, Domain Server, Windows file server, Synology NAS 
  • Desktop Support - Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, Google G-Suite, Apple IOS, Networking
    Awareness of the following areas - WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, VPN and Switches / Routers, Cisco Meraki
  • Telephones - Support and Maintenance of mobile telephones, including Apple iPhones & Android devices, 3G Mobile WAN, VOIP phone systems
  • Hardware support and Maintenance - Desktop PC’s, laptop & mobile solutions, printers & photocopiers 
  • Learning - Technology and its application to business are in constant flux. You need to learn from each new experience and embed that learning into the IT group
  • Core knowledge of IT - Need to have and keep up a deep domain knowledge 
  • Cloud Computing and Environments
  • Coordinate with other teams to handoff build guidance to complete orders where managed service support is request
  • Coordinate with other services teams where cloud & virtualisation specific issues are escalated
  • Responsible for general health and maintenance of cloud service offerings
  • Contribute to new products and feature enhancements and documentation 
  • Provide advice and information to customers and colleagues regarding Amazon Web Services and general
    cloud infrastructure as service offerings and best practice
